Well rest week is over and back at it. Doggcrap training in full swing. If you haven't learned what DC training is, here is a link to a good write up over it. http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/how_to_build_50_pounds_of_muscle_in_12_months
Still sitting about 270 and the goal is to hit 285 or as close to it as possible. Gonna be rough with a baby due any day now but I'll still manage to get my lifts in. So here's how day 1 went down.
Day 1:
Incline bb press 315#s - 12 reps, rest pause
DB Shoulder Press 100's - 24 reps, rest pause
Dips 120# +BW - 19 reps, rest pause
Lat Pulldowns 300#s - 24 reps, rest pause
Rack Pulls 495#s - 10 reps, 12 reps straight sets
Meals are high protein, carbs based around my workouts and I have gotten crazy with the veggies. I am sticking to HIIT style cardio keeping it within 10-12 minutes on non training days and feel like I'm recovering just fine. I am spending more and more time on the foam roller with my quads, hip flexors, IT bands glutes and such as I am naturally super tight in those areas. Starving today, can't seem to eat enough. Also I want to give thanks to my sponsor, Hydraulix and the owner, Jay. Thank you for giving me a shot and allowing me to represent you. I look forwardto growing with the company and can't wait to represent on stage. I also can't wait for the release of the rest of the line. Well that's it for now.... I'll update a little each day.
Side note -
We are waiting for Lincoln to be born any day now. Trying to come up with a game plan on how to manage the gym during and right after delivery. We will be relying on a lot of friends stepping up to help out. We truly are blessed with good people around us. I put all my trust in God and He keeps taking care of me every step of the way. I tell ya, times are tough and people are scared but I rely on God. Knowing He has my back, I don't sweat the small stuff at all because at the end of the day I still have Him. Thanks for taking the time to allow me to share this.
A balancing act....

Been awhile since I posted up last. Some new changes have occurred. I would go in some detail about me but I have already covered many things in previous posts so I will leave it up to you guys to just catch up. As of now, our baby boy will be born within the next few weeks and I for one can't wait for him to get here. Yes, not looking forward to the sleepless nights, numerous diaper changes, etc. etc. But I am looking forward to meeting my son. Am I nervous having another kid and turning 36 this month....yes, but again, this gives me a chance at being a better father. A better father, not just to him, but all my kids. I still have a fear of being like my father, non existent. Growing up without a father has made me realize just how important dad's are. I believe if you were to look at almost all of the problems facing our society, it can all be traced back to men, not being fathers. But that is for another day.... I'm trying to find a way to get this started, I hope to cover all topics of my life, parenting, being a husband, a Christian, a bodybuilder, business owner, trainer... I can't help but keep thinking about my family right now though, so if I am boring you I promise it will get better in time.

OK, OK, OK...I am sorry I keep falling off the blog wagon. I get super busy but I will try and post something more often. A lot has happened since last time, the gym has grown quite a bit, I am taking some time off of school, and we have a baby on the way (hoping for a girl, but odds are it'll be a boy), life is good!
I will always be a bodybuilder and I plan on returning to the stage again, but just a week ago I took on the challenge of training for my first MMA fight. What the hell am I thinking you might be asking, well I'm not sure. I like new things and I hope to represent my good friend and his MMA school by doing this. We will just have to wait and see. My competitors are cleaning house this year. I have a powerlifter heading to World Championships, one of my girls took 3rd at the Ronnie Coleman Classic in women's figure, another in Strongman and more. This group, this family here is something special. Michelle and I have become gym parents to these kids and it's amazing.
New sponsorship!!! Hydraulix has recently added me to the roster as one of their athletes. A new company just coming out and I am excited to be a part of it. See this company has the athlete at heart, hence their slogan "by athletes, for athletes." Samples of their new pre workout "Launch" will be arriving soon, can't wait.
Stay tuned...

Been awhile, so I figured time for an update.
So far life is still crazy and hectic but fun. We are close to hitting being open for 1 year already. Time flies when you are working 18 hour days. This coming year is going to be huge!!! New members, new competitors, and another NPC season. I plan on doing the Branch Warren in July and have added some good amount of size to my legs, back and shoulders. Still need to bring up my arms and chest though. Kids are growing like weeds and today I have been texting my daughter. This is not a good thing. With the resent events of shootings and things, I have come to realize every second with my kids is that much more precious then ever before. God is working in my life, giving me opportunities to be His messenger and minister to people. Funny because I have no idea what to say but He just lets the words flow. OK...Merry Christmas everyone and I will keep more updates coming.

A new chapter
Since opening the gym we have started a new chapter in our lives with new faces and interesting daily adventures. We have an awesome group of people here from a 6' something giant power lifter, to a 5' bikini competitor, to just a normal guy looking to get in shape. It's like we're a band of misfits held together by the simple bond of faith and the iron. I love my crew and the way everyone supports one another. The best way to describe it is my family (my wife and three kids) has now grown to consist of almost 15 or so of us. Life is good and it keeps getting better. It is hard at times trying to stay true to my faith and keep all this going at times, but I manage. As many of our crew come to me for advice and guidance it would be easy to spit out something random but I pray about all their concerns and worries and allow God to intervene and guide me. I love the fact that my Lord is a part of this place. I walk through the doors and I can feel His presence here. Each day I pray and ask Him to be a part of this gym and the lives that we are able to touch and i feel blessed that He listens. I have to give some HUGE props to my wife. Michelle is who keeps this place going by doing all the behind the scenes work like phone calls, bills, scheduling, contacts and such. All I do is train my clients, toss in my two cents on things she needs help with, help get our name out there, a little bit of cleaning, and be the face of this place. Without her it would all fall apart and I am thankful to have her here. Ok, I'll post up more regularly to let everyone know how life here at Metroflex is going. I am still a christian, a husband, a father, a student, and a bodybuilder. I will keep writing about each of those areas....stay tuned.

Metroflex San Marcos
Well we have been open just over a month now and going strong. There have been the doubters, the haters and the believers.... thank all of them for empowering me. Those that believe kept me focused, those that doubted gave me strength, and those that hate really motivated me to do better. We are here and here to stay. We have almost 130 members now with over 15 powerlifters and 12 or more competitors scheduled to hit the stage in 2012. Most importantly we have numerous of members here to improve their health, make changes, and push themselves harder then ever before. So San Marcos, are you ready for a change and to take your health and fitness to the next level? If so come on by and if not, no worries....we'll be here waiting when you are.

Busy as hell...
I haven't posted in a while with good reason....3kids, a wife, 5 finals, and opening a gym...so excuse me for not getting to computer that often. I'm actually pretty excited because of how hectic things have become I have had to instead of relying on the weights to clear my head and calm my anger, I've turned more towards prayer. I'm thankful to say that a few times a day the good Lord and I sit down for a pow wow and talk about things. Metroflex Gym San Marcos will be open come January 1st and I'm cutting down my classes to focus on the business, clients, family, my training and my relationship with the big man upstairs...so stay tuned for more updates, comments and an inside look at the life of a Christian, husband, father, business owner, student and body builder.....all I can say is it's going to get a hell of a lot more interesting.
